Golden-hour kayaking off the Savaneta coast, Aruba
Vale's Rambo Adventures · Savaneta, Aruba

The Rambo Expedition: lagoon, reef and sea glass

If you want Rambo, it is private. This is the only tour he guarantees to guide himself. Every other departure is led by a guide he trained, which is a fine evening on the water. This one is the man who learned this coast first and has been reading it ever since.

One group an evening

We run this once a day and we sell it once a day. Book it and the evening is yours: your kayaks, your guide, your pace, and nobody else added to the launch to round the numbers up. It is the reason the tour exists. There is no version of it where you arrive and find strangers already at the ramp.

Rambo is a veteran Aruban ranger with decades on this south coast. On a private evening he is not managing a schedule, so the tour bends to you: longer in the water if the reef is showing off, longer ashore if your group is happy sitting still.

The route, in golden light

You launch at 5:00 PM from the ramp in Savaneta and you are on the water while the light is still going gold, which is the whole point of a late departure.

First the mangrove channels, where the water goes glassy and the herons work the roots. Then out to the Mangel Halto reef and into the water: parrotfish, blue tangs, coral gardens, and the sort of visibility that makes people forget they were nervous about snorkeling. Then the crossing to Sea Glass Island, where you land, walk the shore and hunt for glass the sea has spent decades rounding smooth. You take what you find home.

The paddle back is the part nobody photographs well and everybody remembers, with the sun going down behind you and the coast lighting up.

What we carry

Provisions on this tour are handled the way a good charter handles them, not the way a kayak tour usually does.

  • Acqua Panna still water, cold
  • Fresh-cut local fruit
  • Cold Gatorade for the paddle home
  • Granny Mati's homemade kombucha, brewed at home on the island
  • Kayaks, paddles, life jackets and snorkel gear, all included

The kombucha is not a garnish. Granny Mati brews it herself and it is the thing guests message us about afterwards.

What it costs

US$449 for the private group, up to 4 guests. That is the tour, the gear, the provisions and Rambo. No per-person arithmetic and nothing added at the ramp.

Two things can be added if you want them. The sunset island picnic board is $49, cheese and cured meats laid out and served on the island while the light goes. Round-trip hotel pickup is $110 per vehicle, so you can leave the driving alone and finish the evening properly.

Where you meet us

The boat ramp in Savaneta, next to the Flying Fishbone. Come fifteen minutes before 5:00 PM in swimwear, with a towel, water shoes and reef-safe sunscreen. Everything else is on the kayak already. If you would rather not drive, add hotel pickup and we come to you.

Bigger parties

If your party is larger than this tour is built for, message us on WhatsApp at +1 786 971 2221 and we will arrange it directly rather than making you force it through a booking form. Same for anniversaries, proposals and anything else the guide should know about in advance. Tell us early and tell us plainly, because the only thing that goes wrong is a surprise nobody briefed him on.

Questions guests ask

Is Rambo really the guide?

Yes. This is the only tour where he is guaranteed to guide it himself. On every other departure you get a guide he trained, which is a good outcome, but it is not a promise that he is the one holding the paddle.

What does the price cover?

US$449 for the private group, up to 4 guests. That covers Rambo as your private guide, the kayaks, paddles, life jackets and snorkel gear, and the provisions we carry: Acqua Panna water, fresh-cut local fruit, cold Gatorade and Granny Mati's homemade kombucha.

What time does it run and how long is it?

It departs at 5:00 PM daily and runs about three hours, so the route sits inside golden hour and finishes after the light has gone soft. Meet at the boat ramp in Savaneta, next to the Flying Fishbone.

Can you add food, or collect us from the hotel?

Both. The sunset island picnic board, cheese and cured meats served ashore on the island, is $49. Round-trip hotel pickup is $110 per vehicle. Add either at checkout, or ask us on WhatsApp and we will set it up.
